Welcome

Welcome to MaxCapital Blog!

In this blog, I am posting my investment ideas and general thoughts about investing and life. My investment journey started in the summer of 2018, provoked by my search for a complex and challenging career. Making decisions with incomplete information, fighting against my own biases and learning about new businesses instantly hooked me. Since then, I have been on a continuous path of self-education by reading books and blogs. My personality instantly resonated with value investing philosophy since I could understand the logic behind it. I buy stocks as I would buy a business. I do not like investment classification, such as growth and value, and I believe that value investing has evolved far beyond buying stocks at low multiples. My assessment of the intrinsic value of a business is based on its future cash flow and range of outcomes. ‘It is far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price.’ This is still the beginning of my journey and there is a long way ahead.

MaxCapital blog has four main objectives:

  • Crystallise my investment ideas and my thinking about investing

I find that writing my ideas helps me to identify potential flaws and areas in which I lack understanding.

  • Keep track of the reasons behind my investment decisions

As a human being, I am prone to psychological biases. Keeping track of my reasoning will help me to identify my mistakes and self-improve.

  • Receive constructive feedback

I hope to receive constructive feedback from my readers and hear the opposite side of the arguments.

  • Meet new people

I hope that this blog will attract like-minded people and will help me to meet people who would be happy to discuss investment ideas.

Whatever your reason for visiting my blog, I hope you find some value in it for yourself. If you would like to connect, please do! You can find my details in the ‘About’ section.
